Introduction
Giselle is a Romantic ballet classic about love, betrayal, and forgiveness. In a rural village, Giselle, a young maiden, falls for Albrecht, a nobleman disguised as a peasant. When she learns of his true identity and engagement, she dies of heartbreak.
As a spirit among the Wilis—ghosts of women deceived by men—Giselle joins their dance of vengeance. Yet when the remorseful Albrecht is ensnared, Giselle’s love transcends death as she shields him from their fate. -
