Introduction
The puppet play Sancho and Don Quixote reimagines Cervantes’ classic, allowing even children who have not yet read the book to easily and delightfully discover its message. The story begins when nine-year-old Sancho opens a magical book that unfolds into a world of adventure. Using puppets of joints, boards, and shadows, along with pop-up book staging, Don Quixote’s outrageous adventures come vividly to life on stage. Playful performances by the actors, accompanied by medieval-style dance music, add humor and a touch of romance to the work’s artistic imagination.
