Introduce
UheeSka, a band cherished by fans worldwide, blends Jamaican ska music with the time-honored traditions of Korean performance, something deeply embedded in the everyday lives of Koreans. This fusion creates a vibrant mix of music and playful spectacle, one full of swagger.
Embracing the shared spirit of exhilaration (sinmyeong), UheeSka reimagines ska and reggae music with a distinctly Korean sentiment. Their exhilarating performances resonate universally, inviting audiences to join in the enjoyment as a shared game or play. They are a popular group, whose fresh music and performances are a feast for the eyes and ears. -
Information
UheeSka showcases the potential for Korean music to evolve by blending traditional Korean performances with Jamaican ska. With each show, they prove that this fusion can create a contemporary and fashionable genre. UheeSka’s original compositions amplify the charm and appeal of traditional performances and make them more accessible to modern audiences. In 2024, UheeSka released their first full-length album and pioneered a new performance genre called “Pancert,” a fusion of the words pan (a traditional open stage) and concert.
Unique to UheeSka, “pancert” is a new genre in the performing arts scene. Through this concept, audiences have the opportunity to participate in a collaborative open stage that exudes an exhilarating spirit. “Pancert” blends tradition with modernity, providing a dynamic and immersive experience for audience members. -
