Introduction
“Ogut X Resurrection” brings together two worlds dreaming of life’s eternity, the Korean shamanic rite Ogut which consoles the souls of the departed, and Mahler’s exploration of life and death in his Resurrection. Their shared yearning is reimagined through the mystical sounds of the saenghwang (Korean mouth organ) alongside percussion, jeongga (classical Korean vocal music), violin, viola, and cello. Moving beyond a simple cross-genre experiment, the performance creates a singular artistic realm where tradition and modernity converge in a powerful expression of rebirth.
